Responsible gambling: the Kyngs tools, the warning signs and where to find help

What Kyngs provides to keep play under control (limits, 24-hour break, time-out, self-exclusion), the warning signs, and help resources in Canada.

The tools Kyngs offers

Our ‘Responsible Gaming’ page describes measures available on request from support, by chat or email.

Limit amounts are set with support or from the account area. An ordinary closure can be followed by reopening on request, under the rules; for self-exclusion, a request to lift it early goes through an internal review and, if accepted, takes effect only after a minimum 24-hour cool-off. Creating a new account during self-exclusion breaches the rules and can lead to a permanent ban.

The signs to watch for

Common markers: playing longer than planned, play interfering with work or social life, failing to stop, hiding or minimizing play, believing a big win will solve problems, borrowing to play or to repay gambling debts. One of these signs deserves a break; several deserve outside help.

Our principles

  • Play for fun, never for income: losing is always possible.
  • Know the game and its odds before staking.
  • Set a budget and keep to it; never play money you need.
  • Do not chase losses.
  • Set a time limit and take breaks.
  • Keep other leisure activities.

Protection of minors

The site is restricted to adults; where the law sets a higher age than 18, that age applies. Kyngs checks the date of birth at registration and carries out document checks. We advise parents to log out after each session, not to save login details, to keep cards and passwords out of reach, and to use filtering software.

Finding help in Canada

Help is provincial in Canada. ConnexOntario offers confidential support for problem gambling in Ontario; in Quebec, Jeu : aide et référence provides a helpline and referrals; other provinces run their own services through their health authorities. Kyngs also points to international resources: Gambling Therapy, Gamblers Anonymous and GamCare, along with the blocking software Betfilter and Gamblock. These organizations are independent of Kyngs.

If you play at Kyngs and feel you are losing control, first ask support for the 24-hour break, then talk to someone.

Frequently asked questions

How do I self-exclude from Kyngs?

By emailing Kyngs support with the desired duration, or indefinitely. The exclusion does not end early on its own; a request to lift it early goes through an internal review and, if accepted, a minimum 24-hour delay.

Does Kyngs offer deposit limits?

Yes. Our ‘Responsible Gaming’ page provides for gambling limits and self-imposed player limits, activated through support or in the account. Amounts are set with you.

Where can I find help in Canada?

Through provincial services such as ConnexOntario in Ontario and Jeu : aide et référence in Quebec, and through your provincial health authority elsewhere.
